The Extraordinary.

Their group laugh was not familiar to her. She wasn’t new in the group but this dark side of her friends was new to her. She always considered them as intellects but that one moment she realized how she couldn’t understand them all along. They weren’t different from others. Their minds worked similar to that of the society. Same kind of small talks, small mentality. She was disappointed in them but mostly in herself. How she couldn’t understand them, how she could’ve explained things to them
.
“Why do we have to make fun of those who come back from not-so-well-off background? Why don’t we see how much efforts they put in their climb? Those who come a long way?” She looked into their eyes and found deep coldness in them. These were her friends?

She was more than surprised? She was always fond of those who came a long way. Those who are termed as “Zero” by the society. Just because they don’t have excess of money or they belong to some extra ordinary families. Those were the people who she always considered as “Heroes”, true heroes.

She didn’t understand what was so special about those Richie riches who have every possible resource in life, that’s nothing extraordinary but to have no resources and then proving yourself is the real test. If you sail through the deep ocean without the tides being on your side then you are extraordinary.

She had loads of respect for such hardworking people but her thoughts wandered, “How the society could put them down just like that? Without any reason? Who are we to judge? And why do we judge?”  Sadness filled her eyes as she drowned deep into her thoughts.

Sitting there she realized,” It’s us who have polluted the society with our shallow thinking, our low mindsets. We think we are literate and intellects but we are not. When we can’t appreciate the real gems among us then do we really expect that simple rocks will be appreciated?”

Most of us suffer from the same problem. We have become biased, money oriented. We must analyze where we stand. Let’s work on not becoming bias and respecting each other for who and what they are. Live and let live!

A Simple Act of Kindness Can Stir the Widest Ocean..

Sitting comfortably on the sand she saw her younger cousins jumping and having fun in the water at a distance. She was always fond of the beach, she loved it: its depth, its unpredictability. With Sammy, her cat resting on her lap she kept looking from one kid to other. She was plunged into deep thoughts.

Out of those eight children why would only one be so crazy over her? She was never among those who’d differentiate between children; she treated them all equally well but she never understood why everyone treated her differently. All of a sudden her thoughts jumbled, her kitty jumped from her lap to attack on the bird sitting nearby.

“No Sammy NO!” She yelled. But her kitty ignored and went to the other direction. “So this is life, you take care and love someone more than yourself, take care of them like your baby even they’ll ignore you” She thought as she watched Sammy go away. “But then why only Alizeh?” Her thoughts confused her.

Alizeh was her youngest cousin, nine years younger than her and despite their differences that little girl copied her. From her walking, talking, posing, and eating to even the words she spoke the most. She was surprised how much a seven year old can observe. Deep into her thoughts she didn’t realize that she was continuously staring Alizeh, her chained thoughts broke and found Alizeh staring at her. She smile and a warmer smile was what she got in return and within seconds she saw Alizeh running towards her, drenched in sweat and out of breath Alizeh asked,

“Why don’t you join us? We are having a lot of fun.” “I am fine here, there has to be someone who has to take care of the stuff as well, go and enjoy darling”, She replied softly.

“You know what? You are very sweet, you always smile, talk softly, and never say no. I like you, you’re very kind.” after speaking Alizeh kissed her hand and ran towards the other kids. She was surprised at the little girl’s purity, her smiled broadened and she felt like a true hero.

She watched the orange sun setting in the deep blue sea and thought “So you really don’t need to be superman or batman, you can be anyone’s hero. All you need is one kind word and you can win any battle.”

Where Would I Rather Be?

Where would I rather be?
The place which isn't far away from me,
It all depends on my belief.
I'd rather be where there's peace,
Where smiles are free,
Where tears neither belong to you nor me,
Where it’s all about victories,
Where miseries don't slap you publically,
Where playing with innocent lives isn't a regime,
A place so heavenly,
Where every moment motivates me with sweet memories,
A place that believes in the heart's beauty,
Where liars don't prevail,
And fake ones don't exist!

 Where would I rather be?
 Where everyone is happy,
 Where love lasts,
It neither weakens me nor breaks me,
 Where trust isn't shattered,
 Where life isn't unpredictable,
 Where justice is served,
 Where voices are heard,
Where crying to myself isn't a routine,
 Where every sunrise enlightens me,
Where I won't be judged cruelly.

 Where would I rather be?
 A place more like fantasy,
Where I won't be afraid to lose my beauty,
Where these youthful years won't be part of memories,
Where life will be full of luxuries,
 Materialism won't be a "tragedy",
Where things could bring internal harmony,
 Where each moment is party,
Lavish life more than that of celebrities,
Such a place is in my dreams.

 Somewhere I’d rather be,
Is a place where we all could be,
Not a mere dream or fantasy,
As a Muslim it is my belief,
Good deeds are all I need,
To obey the Lord's teaching is the way to succeed,
Then only will heaven welcome my being,
 Where would I rather be?
The place which isn't far away from me,

It all depends on my belief!

In The Dark...

We live in a world where we are judged on our every single action. Judgements which are based on assumptions, a common mindset or just mere perceptions. We are judged on baseless reasons, reasons that aren't ours! What we feel or go through will never ever be considered because it doesn't add spice to the gossip.

Let’s face the truth, no matter how much we hate people who judge, in the end we ourselves end up judging people. We judge people on their smiles, on their tears, on their natures, on their habits, on their every single step, without knowing their story, their reality.

Not only we judge others, we fear of being judged. We try to act as genuine as possible, yet we fail.
Each person in this world has his/her dark side which they hide, not only from others but also from themselves. We’re so used to of judging that we have started doing peoples job, we've started labelling our own selves. We live in a dilemma, if we are down, confused and going through a rough day we will never show our real colours  instead we end up faking our feelings.

For instance, if I am sad and down for some reason, I’ll put on a bright smile because that’s my ultimate power tool. I can easily fool others and most importantly myself that I am happy and satisfied, when actually I am not! In the end I’ll end up making worse choices in this state of enigma. But I won’t stop faking around because if I show myself, “What will people think about me?”, “What will people say?”, such thoughts will haunt me
This is what we all are doing to ourselves.

Look around, you’ll find everyone drowned in the sea of problems but like everyone else we’ll judge the book by its cover! Why should we bother giving anyone a hand, like us they are also living a “perfect life”. We are all imperfectly perfect, no matter whatever we are going through we portray that “All Is Well”. Look around you’ll find people fighting from broken hearts to hunger, from illiteracy to racism, from abusive relationships to innocent deaths! If we say that this world is not a good place its most probably because we haven’t done anything to make it a good place.

We have failed to realize that we all stand on the same dark path, where we can’t see anyone else, we just feel ourselves in the darkness and conclude that its just us in the darkness and we start faking out, like everyone else.

Is This Life All About?

I don't write poetry but this is my first attempt, so here it goes:

Cold breeze, beautiful sun,
What can happen then?
Hidden chaos.
Is this life all about?
Everything changes suddenly!
Never explaining what has happened.
People die, families cry.
So inhumane…
Why innocent lives?
Now where are the fake one?

Homes are on fire from inside.
Fighting and arguing,
Never compromising!
Where has all the love and affection gone?
Faded like it was never there before.

The world is becoming a global village
But where is all the friendship?
All the promises?!
Buried in the cold souls?

Beautiful night,
The moon so bright!
Just waiting for a miracle.
What else can happen?
